This quick-start guide walks you through setting up and testing an indoor tracking system using the Navigine Platform. In just a few steps, you'll move from hardware installation to real-time visualization of tracked devices ensuring smooth deployment and reliable performance.
- Navigine Asset Tracking Software
- Blueiot BA3000-t - 5 Pieces (Gateways)
- Blueiot Card Tag BT1000-g - 10 Pieces (Tracking Devices)
Before installing the tracking system, gather and connect the following:
- Physical server – Check Navigine’s website for hardware requirements.
- PoE switch – Powers the gateways via Ethernet.
- Dedicated router – Used only for this system. It should connect the PoE switch and all gateways.
- Windows PC – Needed to configure the gateways.
Network setup:
- Connect the server, PC, switch, and router.
- Set the router’s subnet to 192.168.1.0/24.
- Each gateway may have a default IP like 192.168.1.X. Adjust these to fit your network setup.
💡 Tip: Make sure all gateways are reachable from your PC before moving on.
Mount each gateway securely and ensure optimal visibility:
- Placement: Attach to a wall or ceiling bracket with a clear line of sight over the tracking area.
- Avoid obstructions: Do not install behind metal objects like pipes, racks, or ducts.
- Height limit: Maximum installation height is 25 meters.
- Power and network:
- Connect each gateway to a PoE-enabled switch using an Ethernet (RJ45) cable.
- When powered correctly, the LED indicator turns green.
- Site plan mapping: Record the exact coordinates of each gateway on your floor plan. These are essential for system calibration.
- Network check: Confirm that all gateways are reachable over the network before proceeding to software setup.
¶ Step 5. System Verification and Calibration
Once all gateways are installed, powered, and connected to the network, reach out to the Navigine support team to begin system configuration and calibration.
Before the session, please prepare:
- A floor plan of the installation area (PDF, PNG, or JPG format)
- The exact dimensions of the space (length and width in meters)
- Area names and addresses (e.g., Warehouse 1, Workshop 2)
- The coordinates or approximate positions of each gateway marked on the floor plan
- Confirmation that all gateways are powered on and accessible via the network
During the remote session, our team will:
- Verify gateway connectivity and signal reception
- Configure the positioning algorithms
- Calibrate the system and test tracking accuracy
